OMEGA SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL Mark III

OMS 316

This iconic vintage speedy is in very good condition and running well. Stainless steel case with Seamaster logo on the back. This case has not been refurbished and is in same condition as from the single owner, an engineer, who alternated between this watch, a Ploprof, a Lobster and an LED Omega. There are normal scratches and a couple of nicks to the steel head. This is really a watch for serious collectors since one would wonder why OMEGA would create such a chunky huge chronograph. It does look interesting and could be called sexy looking on the wrist when worn with a shirt and jacket. Stainless steel case reference 176.002 fitted with original full sized Omega stainless bracelet which could do with a proper buffing but still looks good. Bracelet extends to fit 8 inches. Original and exceptionally fine black dial with white tachy bezel and hands. Mineral crystal has a scratch near upper rim but you would have to look very sharply to actually see it. Automatic chronograph movement is 22 jewel caliber 1040 developed jointly with Lemania. This watch was produced in the 70’s and post 73 since that’s when they added the designation of “Professional” to dial. Timepiece is 41mm wide, 51.5 mm long and 15.9mm thick.
