Waltham Pocket Watch with historical inscription

W9275

Waltham Gold filled  hunting cased watch in a hefty size 18 case.  Case excellent with no brass showing through on this very historical watch.  This is a very collectible presentation piece to a soldier returning from the Boer War in 1889.  Case and inner dust cover engraved to the soldier from his town in Markham, returning from the war in South Africa in 1900. Movement is a well running 15J Grade 820 model 1883 with a full plate and stem wind with lever set.  Dial is perfect and white with black Roman numerals and a seconds dial at the number six position.  Blued spade pointers on the dial.  In all, a very good looking special watch for that person who treasures wartime mementos.  55 mm diameter (2 and 3/16th”).
